…And Celebrate EARTH DAY 2010
It’s Earth Day! Which means YOU should be doing good for mother nature!
Did you know the new Disney movie OCEANS comes out today and if you go see it opening week Disney will make a donation in your honor to help save our coral reefs!
Go to Disneynature.com for more information!
Also, if you can’t do anything to help today, now worries, you can do your part this SATURDAY APRIL 24, 2010 by helping clean up the Charles River! All you have to do is show up at the Esplanade and they’ll put you to work! It’s that easy and only requires a few hours of your time, so wake up at 8AM this Saturday and head to the Esplanade - we will be cleaning up from 9:00AM - Noon!
Any little thing you do helps - just by taking a shorter shower, conserving water, recycling or keeping the lights or your computer off when you’re not using them - helps, so don’t feel like you have to go to some BIG Earth Day celebration to be helpful. If you can do something big and can attend an event, that’s great, but for those of you who have to work or go to school all day, just conserve water and energy as much as you can….every small step helps make a difference! :-)

…And Participate In EMERSON DAY OF ACTION
Here’s all the information you need to know for tomorrow about EMERSON DAY OF ACTION:
From SUZANNE HINTON:
***MORNING: Please plan on coming to Walker 201 and 202 (adjacent rooms) at 120 Boylston at 8:15a.m. to register.***
Once you’re checked in, we’ll have an on-the-go breakfast (fruit, muffins, pastries, bagels, breakfast wraps from Bolocco, juice/coffee/tea). We’ll hear an overview of the day, introduce ourselves to our teams, then we will serve! We aim to depart Emerson, either by foot or by Train, by 9a.m. Please bring a weekly or monthly pass if you can; otherwise, we will cover the cost of your train rides.AFTERNOON: Your site leaders will travel with granola bars and some candy snacks for you and will guide you to your site, through your service, then back to school. Everyone will leave their sites by 1p.m. or before in order to arrive back at Walker (same rooms) by about 1:30 or 1:45. We will eat lunch (various meat and vegetarian sandwich boxed-lunches as well as vegan wraps donated by Veggie Planet) and I will talk a bit about the year’s unfoldings. Then our keynote Speaker, Ashley Tarbet (‘09) will tell us about her time at Emerson and what it’s like in the service world post-graduation. We’ll finish by 2:45pm.
DRESS: Please dress accordingly for the weather—as of now, Saturday should be a sunny, breezy 60 degrees! Also wear comfortable shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. And in the morning, you’ll get your free Emerson Action Day T-shirt (short-sleeved, so you may want to wear a long-sleeved T underneath).
WATER: PLEASE BRING A FULL WATER BOTTLE WITH YOU—Boycott bottled water! It’s a little step with a big impact! CLICK HERE to learn more!
Check out our Spring Newsletter that “dropped” today!

Here’s some cool tips you can do to conserve water:
Take shorter showers and use lukewarm water!
When brushing your teeth, keep the water off!
Try to limit the amount of water bottles you use - reuse bottles or use your own, sports water bottle for drinking water!
And last but not least!:
Attend the sweet water-related events on-campus that this flier promotes!
Don’t be wasteful, conserve water any chance you get! :-)
